The San Antonio Spurs joined the rest of the NBA in kneeling for the national anthem ahead of their Friday game against the Sacramento Kings, but there have been a handful of noticeable holdouts in the kind of head coach Gregg Popovich and assistant coach Becky Hammon.
They joined Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac and Miami Heat significant man Meyers Leonard as the only 4 group figures not to kneel as of Saturday, but Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan asked fans not to vilify Popovich or Hammon for their choices. “With Pop and Becky standing, I have no thoughts [contrary to] belief in them that is all out of genuine, out of a optimistic side of their heart,” DeRozan stated following San Antonio’s win more than the Kings.
